In Praise of the Bathtub
Jan. 27th, 2004 08:55 pmFinally, after nearly 5 months in this house, tonight I got around to trying out the bathtub---baptizing it, if you will. It took a long, lazy snow day. I filled it up good, put
pijeanf's Martin Luther King, Jr. Day CD on shuffle with the Michelle Shocked/Fianchna O'Braonain's Artists Make Lousy Slaves, and got on in.
It's easy to see how religious experiences can be associated with being immersed, covered over in soft, thick water, head poking up & waterfalls running down the hair: the smell, the feel, the taste.

Date: Jan. 28th, 2004 04:10 pm (UTC)I could probably find the town its near, but I couldn't find the waterfall on a Vermont Atlas. I don't know the name of the road it was near. I'm not sure I could even find it if I was driving that direction. It's been about 10 years since I visited.
Alas. I'm such a waterfall freak. When I lived in Vermont, I knew lots of locations.
