Where the hell is this?
Why are we all wearing red?
Who's sitting next to you?
Who took the picture?
Why don't I have a copy? (it's a fantastic shot!)
Can you tell I only vaguely remember this at all? : o

Date: Oct. 2nd, 2003 04:04 am (UTC)Sitting next to me is Billy Fassett (we were pretending to be newlyweds), the openly queer adopted son to a rich doctor from Easton. He later got arrested with Nancy and some other people for something weird like theft after they played around in an abandoned hotel down at Tolchester Beach, I think it was. No, wait---Betterton. They threw some old mattresses out the window, thus giving the cops the excuse for harsh charges.
Sometimes I miss weekends hangin' out with a buncha people who have to cast about for something goofy to do, and then go do it.

Date: Oct. 2nd, 2003 01:11 pm (UTC)Red Day. That might have been my idea? I don't remember either, though. Sounds like one of mine. I know I'm wearing Barry's knit cap, and I loved that umbrella. (I have an old black one now that we found in the garage in Adams--makes me feel like Alec Guinness (in a really loose way, of course) when I'm walking around with it.)
I didn't remember Billy Fassett at all. Did he go to jail for his indiscretion?
Definitely miss those performance art weekends. And, damn, we knew how to compose a shot, didn't we? Thanks for posting the pic!

Date: Oct. 2nd, 2003 02:21 pm (UTC)Billy and Nancy and I think 2 others went to court, Billy with a lawyer his dad provided; said lawyer went with the victim-of-a-tough-upbringing argument and Billy got no penalty, though the others got like 400 hours of community service.
When we get a little further with unpacking I'll see if I can't turn up the others. (I think I'd scanned this one thinking it might show up in the US GUYS CD project.)
(You sitting with the umbrella has a Harold-and-Maude-at-the-funeral feel to me.)

Cool!
Yeah, definitely an H&M feel there. The whole church thing, not just me.
