i.e., a poem based on a quote? i heart mathematical poetry -- it's very crunchy and yellow.

i like "crunchy"

"yellow" i'm scratchin' my head over -- maybe not one the head gets so much as the color-perceiver sector of the soul?

"dichotomy"s are in my daily reading, so that adj could be said to come from there, but the lines are just me, pondering and playing with one of the almost-surely unwise frameworks of my noggin/attitude/worldview

'yellow' was more out of the left field, although now that i've thought about it, it might have been a random flash from my other brain, where i remember this 'love song' by this really cool band from the eighties. the song was a panegyric to the beloved woman (and how he wants to 'do' her until the dawn), but the best part is when the singer launches into the catalogue of her excellent qualities:

pussycat

you are like the sun
which gives us life

so warm
and bright

so big
and yellow

maybe this rings better if you grow up in the socialist iconography where sun is shiny and bright and always yellow for some reason. [n.b. sun generally played a huge role in the soc/comm iconography -- the collusion of nature with *our political goals]

i always thought this was good 'poetry' as pop music went in that it played with that language pretty well, and extended its associations with 'love' (bc you were naturally in 'love' with your country/leader etc.) at a time when you couldn't do much with it. these people were generally really smart. 'the idols' their band was called.
