Date: Apr. 4th, 2006 05:34 pm (UTC)i always thought this was good 'poetry' as pop music went in that it played with that language pretty well, and extended its associations with 'love' (bc you were naturally in 'love' with your country/leader etc.) at a time when you couldn't do much with it. these people were generally really smart. 'the idols' their band was called.
