ffloHere I am, just about "wheels up," at ever so slightly after 10 a.m.
My mother liked to use that expression for the state of road trip readiness, after my father died, with a kind of pleasure that made me think it had been his expression. Sounds like it comes from airplanes, after all, and he did love airplanes.
