Dear Lisa,

I hated that name, too, and made a bad decision when we were struggling to come up with a name that described the inner powernet function of those clothes. You are exactly right that it is inconsistent with Junonia’s long-time message.

But, the good news is that starting with the summer book we have renamed the whole collection of inner support garments QuikShape. I hope you like it. I thought it both described the inner function, and was very “Junonia” playing on our other trademark of QuikWik.

So please forgive my mistake. I hope you’ll try the QuikShape items, they do feel marvelous.

Thank you so much for writing. I truly appreciate it.

Best wishes,

Anne Kelly, President

P.S. I’m going to share your email with our staff. Any would you mind if I quoted you sometime on the web or in the catalog with your first name?

Dear Anne---

Thanks for that response. As it's not just the name that I personally find unappealing, I doubt I'll be trying the re-shaping products; I strive to be comfortable being shaped as I am without significant molding by my attire. But I do appreciate your attention to my e-mail and your acknowledgment that the campaign around those products had unfortunately fatphobic connotations. It's good to know that you all really don't want to join the forces touting slimness as a virtue we all would naturally want to achieve.

Feel free to quote me as you will.
