I don't hate Matt Damon particularly, but I know more than one person in whom his acting appearances in movies provoke notable negative sentiment.

Me, I hate Kevin Spacey, I realized today, seeing some movie of his is coming out. And Nicholas Cage. I hate him too. I have a definite distaste for Kevin Costner, too, though I love Bull Durham despite him (like digging Moonlighting despite Cage). The idea of doing a "10 Actors I Hate" list crossed my mind, but only briefly.

The office closed at noon today for New Year's.

Trying on shoes this weekend. Lunch with [livejournal.com profile] squirrelykat in a few. She's considering joining facebook. Not being on facebook has become more of a distinguishing feature of a person, in a way, this year.

Happy end of the soon-to-be old year, all.

I'm personally boggled -- I love Kevin Spacey. I'm with you on the Costner-hate, though. He and Nick Cage just ... don't make what I like to call 'watchable films.'

I grant you, Kevin Spacey tends to appear in notably better movies. He's just such a full-of-himself ACK-TORR. Practicing his AHRRRT. I mean, fuh. Really I suspect him of letting little humanity invade his performances. If that makes any sense. Anyhow there's something missing, to my mind, and especially visibly given how deserving of kudos for excellence he clearly thinks he is.

I could never keep actors sorted out well enough to love or hate them. I just have trouble identifying human beings. Which is kind of embarassing for a teacher.

Well, you generally seem to recognize me in the library, and that's enough for me. :)

I don't know how one could consider Nicolas Cage anything less than the greatest actor of our time...

Wow. I guess I was just never exposed to the, um, extent of his oeuvre. And that short film right there is not only a Nicolas Cage movie I enjoyed, but one I enjoyed *because* of his performance. In fact there are too many great bits to pick out a fave. Maybe the one on the purple bedspread? Oh, but there are others just as fine....
