Earlier they were saying big snow after midnight. Now the word is 4 a.m., which is any minute now. "Heavy snow will overspread the region." I like that, "overspread."

There's no sign of it outside, other than the sky being all white. But no wonder they're so sure:


Pretty, isn't it? I never think of oranges and pinks together.

So me, I'm right at the bend in the highway in the county one to the west of Detroit's, where I'm glad to have milk, bread & toilet paper, the things people rush to hoard in Maryland whenever snow is expected, even an inch.

I wondered when it had started! I figured it must have been pretty close to morning, because they were so behind on plowing when I tried to get to work.
