I've been going through email in prep for dumping my old ISP/webmail. As of a few minutes ago I'd gotten all the Sent and Rec'd I may keep, or haven't gone through yet, sorted into folders. That's not counting whatever stuff was downloaded, 5+ years ago, into the email program on this machine.

I have been reading some of it as I go, but some I just dispatch into cybernothingness, unopened. There's painful stuff; there's delightful stuff; there's boring stuff. Some of the delightful is a little painful; little of the painful is at all delightful. Ain't that how that can be?

Anyway, speaking of the transition from Earthlink, if you wanna see (or take another look at) my attempt at making a website (with frames, which were already outdated at the time), click here for a flashback to the rah-rah-"we"-bought-a-house tale, from 2003. It'll be biting the dust when I cancel that account.

(The easter egg is Bert's clickable head.)

set up an email client, download everything, and so spare yourself the pain of every having to sort the old stuff.

funny thing is, despite the pain, i seem to want to accept the invitation of the excuse, the opportunity/suggestion of the occasion, to take stock, to recall and trace some recent (sometimes fading or skewed) interpersonal history. could be as simple as it feeling good not to feel the need to bury and/or keep buried.

yep. and i've still got some. revisited and let go of many, though, and did blow some away without looking. they were around that time i had been wanting to confront holly, and had to be told by my mental health professional that the shakes i was having then could well have been excitement, not anxiety.

Thanks, B! It looks even less like that than it did when you guys were here. You'll have to come back soon to see, hunh? :)

I used to think only of how superiorly orderly the previous owner had it, inside and out. But now, at least in addition, I think some stuff like "She really didn't have any color on the walls, except that puke mauve," and other small reflections of my ever-tentative claiming of the space as My Own.

Got ya'll's card, btw. Gonna write you back. Have to check, but I think you're living really close to where my first lesbian kiss occurred.

Ooooo, yes, check the location and we'll drive by and take a picture to send you! Historical Landmark, no?

We live just to the north of Maple and just to the east of I-680, if that means anything at all.

:)
