OK, let's pack up our bags and swimsuits and some friends in my minivan, split the gas, and drive up there. I've got two pairs of binoculars to take to the top.

Pack a windbreaker--the wind off the lake can be chilly up on top!

(yeah, right, mom--whatever you say)

It's still an hour away--now stop teasing your little brother!

I googled Devils Lake. It's in the Irish Hills, not out along Lake Michigan Like I had imagined. Curiouser than that are two twin observation towers also in the Irish hills built adjacent to each other by competing tourist trappers, that look nothing like the one in the postcard. Those are still standing, but closed to visitors.

What she said. Did people thrown things at the people on the other tower, I wonder? fflo, is this really postcard week, or something you decreed, or what? Check out the ones I just posted.

It's postcard week. I saw some piece last week about how it's postcard week this week. Where it's considered postcard week, or with whom exactly, I don't know.

All the groovy postcards I have at home, and no scanner. Not sure what I'm going to come up with today.

i figured out how to use my scanner at home without having it on the highest setting, where it takes half the day to scan something. turns out the scanner at work only does black and white. i found a few cards. got a lot of others, but packed away in boxes (they're mostly FROM people). i could scan and post the postcard the vet just sent me "recommending and vacinating for Leptospirosos. Dogs, contract leptospirosa from contact with contaminated grass, plants, mulch, water, or from infected racoons, rats, mice, skunks, opossums, voles, dogs, and farm animals." Can cause kidney disease, so it's no joke. I'll call.
