I went to the dentist. First time in a long time. Which probably has to do with why I have to go back multiple times in the near future. Which in turn has to do with why I wouldn't mind being reminded that I did the right thing by going, since the unpleasantry and expense are commencin'. Hell's bells, I know it was the right thing to pick a dentist & go; it's actually one of my recent accomplishments in taking care of myself.

If you don't feel like praising me, maybe you can just tell me they are the bells of hell in that expression, and that the apostrophe thus belongs.

That's certainly praise worthy. It's exceedingly easy to let that sort of thing go.

And initial Googling indicates that the apostophe belongs. :^)

I can't imagine why the apostrophe wouldn't belong there. As with all things, though, you should probably ask Arthur if you want the truth.

And good for you, going to the dentist!

O, mighty an benevolent 'Ff'lo You are the goddess of responsible dental hygene, thine inscisors pierce food as sharply as your rapier wit, and molars grind with ruminations of great wisdom.

You have shown courage in facing fear and endurance in the face of the drillMay your username be raised to the heavens, exemplary in tooth and soul, that your dinner may never be gummed, and you speech never slutted by the flapping of unsupported lips or the clacking of dentures.

And so your smile shall ever illuminate the darkest times, undimmed by gaps nor the hand of shame upon your mouth.

Eat, laugh, speak, and grin with joy and gusto O great goddess of lifejournal, and shower upon us the joy of your toothy commentary and occasional physical presence!

Well, they've made no direct predictions in that regard, but at this point I'll likely be spared, in the foreseeable future, even reparative surgery, let alone tooth loss. Knock on something.

I wish you good and happy long-lasting teeth, too, S. And that Peter... indeed!

Yes! Congratulations are in order. I still struggle with dentist-phobia, and after an 18 year absence, I've now have regular visits. No treatment needed at the last two six-month check-ups! It's hard but always worth it. I wish you lots of toothy success and applaud the way you are looking after yourself.
