[Poll #726257]
I'll post a range & average once I've got some votes in. Here I mean how many miles before the car (effectively) dies are a lot of miles to get out of a vehicle, in your estimation, off the top of your head. I'm curious!

Date: May. 10th, 2006 07:48 pm (UTC)We've heard that the Subaru should get to 200,000 if we take care of it (which we've been doing), but our mechanic also told us that at around 100,000 they (the Subaru Legacys) are prone to this slow oil leak that ours seem to have developed, which would apparently cost an arm & a leg to fix. Right now, we're at 90,000 miles on that car, BTW. We may actually trade this one in before it dies, though. That would be unusual for us, and it seems very extravagant.
Anyway--the short answer would be I think it depends on the kind of car and the care it receives.
