That's why it's not so bad that I stayed up late watching episodes of "Lost" from last season. I just wanna know---am I ever going to get some backstory on Hurley? There've been multiple episodes with flashbacks on a couple of the others.

Also, does anybody else fast-forward through the "something's in the woods I can hear but can't see!" sequences, or the scenes of people running through the forest from each other or after each other or from something they can hear but can't see? Tedious, tedious; tedious. (pause) Tedious. I'm all for suspense, but I feel like the good stuff is too strung out in this show. And then when it comes it's not as good as I'm hoping it will be.

I'm not quite giving up yet, though, prob'bly.

This evening's other reflection is that I like buzzing hair. I don't know what I'm doing, but I like doing it.

I would not still be watching if they were not serving up a goodly amount of Hurley.

There are a ton of subtle things to watch/listen for in the jungle sequences. You may want to try watching with the subtitles on if your set will do that for you.

Season two has been much better so far as making with the story. Now that we know everyone pretty well, there are less flashbacks. Although now we have the tailies to consider.

I don't know what the "tailies" are, but I'm glad to hear I'll find out more about this guy sometime. Subtitles---good idea. I'll look into that.

The flashbacks I don't mind, per se. It's mostly the slow stuff on the island that has me pushing FF. Though I do that some in flashbacks, too. Maybe it's cut kinda slow, or kinda slow in ratio to how much I value the nuances of dialogue or something? I suppose knowing what (sexy) Said and the others think they're hearing whispered might provide some interest in the details for me.

Oh---tailies must be from the tail section! Oooh, I'm so smart. Wonder if that means that lady gets to see her husband again.

And do you really want to know? :-) Actually, so far, not. Though there are hopes. There are indeed hopes.

Rose is one of my favorite characters. You don't see her much in the first season though.

Buzzing hair?

Is this literally hair that makes a buzzing sound, or some expression that everyone but me understands?

Or is this a "Lost" thing?

It's "to buzz" as in "to cut using electric clippers that make a buzzing sound." I'm saying I enjoy the activity of cutting hair with this device. Not related to Lost, though I did just type something below about hair on Lost.

Ahhh! It all makes sense now. As in a buzz cut. So next time I see you I should expect to see a US Marine Corps hairstyle.

No---probably not, anyway! I buzzed somebody else. I have been barbering.

I understand some people do buzz their own hair, but I'm pretty sure it'd cost me at least the tip of an ear if I tried that.

Yes, there is a Hurley flashback episode before the end of Season 1. It is one of my favorites. So much stuff happens to him. Err. Not saying more for fear of spoilers. There is also a Hurley flashback episode in Season 2. So he's one of the double-flashback boys.

I'd say that I adore Hurley the most of all the characters. He has all the best lines. He is so sweet. Of course, for eye candy, and a fascinating back story, I'm all over the Sayid love, but ....

Who're you liking the best?

Dude, I like Hurley, and how he calls everybody Dude in such a non-surfer but affable/good-hearted vibe. And he does have the best lines. I don't fast-forward through his dialogue. Looks like I just misspelled (sexy) Sayid above. My but he has a great face---and those eyes.

The female characters kinda suck, now that I think about it. I don't find myself giving much of a dang about the mysterious past of the one who was in the marshall's custody. Feh. Whatever.

Why don't we ever see the doctor shaving his head with the (torture) razor? That'd be funny. Like, here's this tool that's got all these heavy connotations, but he's got to use it to keep his hair super-shorn.

I like the face of Michael, too, but I think it's partly cuz I haven't yet figured out what bit of pop culture I know that face from.

We never see anyone doing upkeep on their hair/etc. Alas. It *would* be funny.

Michael is the pretty Tybalt (I think it was) from the diCaprio "Romeo+Juliet".
At least that's what everyone says he was.

I like Sun (the Korean woman) quite a bit, but that's because of her flashbacks more than anything else. Kate (the on-the-run chick) is annoying and Claire is babymama more than anything else, so isn't fleshed out well. Shannon IS fleshed out, but in a very bitchy way.

What is this "fast forward" you speak of?

The Hurley episode was THE BEST!

Sounds like the Hurley stuff will've been worth waiting for.

Thanks.

The first Hurley episode was brilliant. The second one wasn't bad, but not as great as the first one.
