Really? Wow! It sounds pretty surreal.

A friend and I went in October 2021. (We'd been going to FL springs more generally, a pass time I wholeheartedly endorse.) There's an area for the public to swim (near where one of the springs comes up, so the water stays ~72F). Weeki Wachee has more ameneties than some of the other springs... there's event space, and a play ground. And then the theater. You go in/under ground, and sit on benches, and there's a glass wall through into a deep area of the spring. We saw the Little Mermaid.
