Ugh, I do not feel like going to chorus.
Jan. 2nd, 2023 06:21 pmI will, though. First night on the risers. Director not there again.
My knees hurt. Have 'em taped. It only helps so much.
Noodle casserole about ready to come out of the oven. Clean sheets on the bed. Maybe I'll take a shower after chorus, so's to be clean for my sheets.
This (long) weekend I was going to watch Glass Onion but ended up taking in Hamilton, and then The Reluctant Astronaut. The Reluctant Astronaut is a 1967 Don Knotts film, for which childhood me was just about the perfect target audience, but I never saw it. Wondered why not; thought maybe it was something about the distribution rights. I mean, The Ghost and Mr. Chicken is only a little bit better (except that it has some panache, or style, or somethin', that bumps it up a level), but was on TV a lot during my childhood.
Turns out The Reluctant Astronaut was released not at all long before Apollo 1 was set to launch. It opened to some excitment, but 2 days later, the Apollo 1 astronauts (Grissom, White & Chaffee) died in a launchpad fire. So it's one of those things like Kennedy getting shot and putting The Manchurian Candidate into a sort of distaste taboo purgatory for a long time.
