It's the blues, cont'd. "blues all around my head" is a line from some old blues (or two, or twelve). But even though I have a clear and present understanding of how their being around the head is dead-on, I'm saying my face reflects 'em just as much. You know how sometimes your facial muscles are swingin' low, more'n gravity oughta account for?

Ah, a cultural reference. All I know about the blues is what the music professor taught me twenty-five years ago. Tonic-tonic-subdominant-tonic-dominant-tonic. Oh and what Riin taught me last year. I've been putting them together recenty:

I started that song in the middle of things last year. Practicing up my blues dulcimer these days, hoping to get a finisshed, playable song out of it by October.

I've been making up songs through much of this mire. I think of the chords by number---I, IV, V---insofar as I think of 'em when I'm strumming. The which-one-it-is is more in my head at the keyboard.
