That's a nice overview shot, but didn't seem like the official photo to submit.  (As usual, click on a pic to see it bigger.)  The official photo, and a number of other views, are  here:

the official photo

A broad-ish view I like better, and would have used for the official submission but for the fact that you can't quite so quickly/easily see how the brick in the middle is the thing, and it doesn't show the whole tableau:

The inspection:

Folks:

When I was putting the parts/pieces away after a cat made some design changes, I paused to take a look at quickie versions of the early concept---just a few characters looking at the brick---and of the use-the-Duplo option that the LEGO donor thought might work.  (He'd also lent me a hinge on which I might've suspended either brick in the middle, but I ended up deciding against that, as it might vaguely suggest a statue or tribute in itself, and distract with the implicit question of who constructed it.  I wanted something more "pure" for them to contemplate.)

I think I made the right call.  All the people help.  A whole swath of LEGOanity, pondering.

And now here's I like enough to want to leave out here so I'll see it a few more times:

Very cool!
The legos on my desk are less organized and just mill about…

Oh man so many memories from when I used to play with them in the 80's. Ralph from the Simpsons is adorable.

He somehow seemed like the perfect Simpsons one to include. And it worked out nicely with his being short, allowing those behind him to see.
