I suppose it happens a bit to me every winter, but this is the worst.  Gotta find it in me--- WANNA find it in me--- to crank it up and try to take better care of myself that way.

When I was pondering what I'd do differently in earlier life if I knew what I knew now, I realized it could be a good exercise--- first to list out the stuff I'd wish I'd undertaken as a kid and young adult.  And then, and only afterwards, pondering which of those things I might still incorporate into my remaining existence, albeit in modified form.  Kind of a part of re-parenting oneself, you might say.

Today has been a kind of one-foot-in-front-of-the-other day.  I did find the other two new towels I bought way back before the pandemic, and got them out, while taking the towels I've been using for many weeks into the wash.  How often do you wash your towels?  On average?  I'd like to know.

I don't shower every day, so I wash my towels maybe once a month in winter and every two weeks in summer.

You're much more frequent than I!

I had a text not long after posting this one saying "We wash our towels like every 6 to 8 weeks. We leave our sheets on for months! Whole seasons."

Er. Whenever I remember to wash my towels? Maybe once or twice a month?

I too do it whenever I remember. Just that doesn't end up being twice a month!

Perhaps I'll reform. This could be a pretty easy resolution to follow through on....

(Mumbles sheepishly behind hand) Maybe once a month? Maybe not that often? We don't shower every day, so we don't feel that they need washing all that often.

Thank you for sharing with sheepish mumbliness!

I mean, when we use the towels to dry off, we've just gotten all clean & everything, so it's not like they're absorbing lots of sweat and oil and dirt. Still, fresh towels are nice. Like fresh sheets.

So this is terribly reassuring and maybe i will change my reminders for how often to change linens.

I have noticed that i can slough skin off when drying off, so the towel isn't just for drying me. I kinda aim for refreshing after five to seven bathings. On the other hand, in the winter i'm generally bathing once a week.

I *mean* to wash towels maybe once a month, but I rarely live up to that goal. But sometimes I notice a smell or something, and I actually wash them.
