Wow! You could have a phone number that spells out your name with those letters It's like magic!

And I have to admit the unusual thing about it to me is that it's only 6 digits.

The two-letter prefix thing amuses me. When I was a kid, there was one residual named exchange in Kalamazoo. fi- which was pronounced "Fireside." I don't think I ever called one of those numbers, but there were radio commercials that included Fireside numbers, and the phone book had fi- numbers in it. But I think they had a total of 7 numbers.

We had 5-digit-dialing options for phone numbers in my town in Kansas through 1972, when we moved to Maryland. In that (relatively small) city in Maryland, there were two phone exchanges, and you could still dial 5 digits to place a call.

It does seem cool, in a retro way, when words stood in for the first 2 numbers. Like people couldn't memorize 7 digits. I suppose it did seem like a lot back then.
