I was right! But I've looked over the Cape Canaveral area via satellite a bunch of times, before and after visiting to see a shuttle launch.

I remember that first photo, or at least photos like it, when I was a whippersnapper. The old Missile Row of the 1960's. I think the second postcard shows a Titan I, which I'm pretty sure wasn't flying anymore by the time they named it Cape Kennedy. Most of those gantry towers are torn down, but sometimes they'll resurrect one of the old pads with a new structure for a new rocket.
