Okay, okay. But maybe Cagney can at least exchange some lusty looks with a witness to a crime, and Lacey can have had some implied hot nookie with a character who speaks no lines ... ? Ugh, no subtext. I think they will have to in some sense "compete" for the attention of some hot "lady" they're both after, and one will respectfully back off when things don't work out and the other 2 are, after all, made for each other.
