OK, so I just showed off my utter ignorance. I simply know her as a name in vague wash of feminist history that I've gotten from listening in on a lot of over-my-head intellectual conversations. I certainly don't know her face. Had to google even to figure out where she vaguely fits in to history.

Famous in literature and literary culture, and to some extent in early-20th century celebrity. But of course celebrity back then was a good bit diff from how it operates these days.

I remember you mentioning that on Livejournal a long, long time ago. Well, not that it was Gertrude Stein, but that you had lived in the same house as a notable historical woman that I didn't know much about.
