I've realized that I don't have enough days left in the fiscal leave year to take enough leave to come close enough to the leave max to use up enough time to not get stuck losing the value of some time down the road when they make a policy change.  So I'm suddenly looking at taking all of next week off.  There are a few things I need to be here for still this week.

Then this year we're forced to take off the week between Christmas and New Year's.

I think it's time to get after some projects I can't do when I'm working too much.  Or just catch up with the laundry and write a song or two.  :)

Ordered two deep-discount bow ties, so new neckware will appear here soon, Houston willing and the creek don't rise.

As far as other stuff, I guess I'll leave it at that for now.  I'm hungry!  I believe I shall get something I like to eat on the way home.

Nothing like scheduling PTO - - - I love that excited feeling (even if there's nothing to do). To me, it's equivalent to when you had a week off from school - but this time, you get paid.

I hear that! In my early work days I worked lots of part-time jobs and never got paid time off, and I still remember the heady feeling when I was just getting used to sometimes getting paid despite not working the time.

Glad i'm not the only one. I thought my annual leave was calculated from my start of employment so i didn't sweat it. Figured i'd take a few weeks off sooner or later. Turns out it's per calendar year so i (and a bunch of my colleagues) now need to conjure up on a vacation on a whim. I suspect i will just hang at home for a week, but who knows? Surprise holiday!
