I heard about it as a returning show this year and started watching the first season on Hulu.  Now I'm caught up, and this most recent episode, with a flashback thread starring a woman in the 1950s, is really good stuff.

Feels like the show's paying off.  Vs. fizzling.  And it's not like any other show, except in that the theme song is a big like the instrumental part of the Bojack Horseman tune.

Yes, i'm watching it! I'm still a couple episodes behind, but i like its weird lazy pace. I am a sucker for magical realist or absurd stories set in unremarkable places. Another one that scratches a similar itch for me is On Becoming a God in Central Florida. I'm not sure if there will be a payoff, but i'm enjoying its weird little journey.

"absurd stories set in unremarkable places" --- nicely said, and I'm with you on that, now that you point out the combo!

I shall check on the Central Florida one.
