I've just watched an entire season of The Twilight Zone, and while there weren't any pool-playing episodes in Season 5, If there were, they could never happen here! Burgess Merideth would never play one of those guys you recognize but can't quite place for some dame, only to reveal amongst the puffs of cigar smoke that the one you least expected was actually the devil, playing for the soul of the one you'd least expect.

Naw, this place looks like they're saying: Here, come play a respectable, wholesome game of pool at our modern recreational facilities.

I suppose I'd rather play in a place like this one, but I'd never watch a black and white movie or TV show set here.

Kinda seems like a student union to me. Didja ever shoot pool at the U here?

Back east there was a pool hall on U.S. Route 1 in/near Laurel, Maryland, that didn't have drinking. It was a sorta serious pool hall. Seems like it's not there any more. The hubcap place nearby that was covered in hubcaps also seems gone.

If Burgess had been in that pool movie instead of Jackie Gleason, would he have been called not "Fats" but "Goggles"?

Aha, Jonathan winters pretending to be Jackie Gleason in a Twilight Zone episode. I feel more sane now.
