That place strikes me as a horrible place to eat. I imagine the noise of all the conversations echoing around so that you can't hear anyone at your own table. And the visual clutter seems so distracting.

Yeah, I hear that. My hunch is that it was an event at which being seen and dressed certain ways amidst the hubbub was more the thing than the meal. But it's not the social scene either of us would be at, I imagine you'd agree.

Sure is ugly, though. And I don't even believe in ugliness.
