Date: Apr. 11th, 2019 04:43 pm (UTC)I have a fondness for the Black Hills in general. My father grew up on Pine Ridge Reservation, so that was sort of his part of the country. We made many a trip diagonally across Nebraska (from NE Kansas) in the hot summer sun to get there, where the pines, dotted with birches, made wonderful shade and a forest carpet of needles.
