I was a bit confused by "Urbandale." I googled it, and I realized I've driven past it, back when southwest michigan rocket club used to hold rocket launches a few miles to the west of it. Not that it was memorable as an actual place. It was just more suburbia, bordering on exurbia.

Ah! Good catch on where it's from! I saw the Battle Creek but I've never seen Urbandale when visiting BC.

I still wish they posted a date - because if the picture was taken on Feb 10, 1911, that baby was a super growing human! ha.

My guess is that this card, since it wasn't sent through the mail, is one they kept for a family album, writing the info on the back for family history. Like people sometimes did (do?) inside a family bible.

But if not, pity that poor mother, popping out that toddler from the git-go!
