Wheee!!! More of that weirdly incomprehensible century-old humor. I know it's funny, but I just don't get the joke.

I think the joke is that she doesn't understand that he's drunk. Like, so drunk he doesn't remember to take off his hat before passing out to sleep.

His nose is a little red. I think red noses and drunkenness have an association.

Oh. I get it. Heh-heh. That explains the weirdly-distorted nose.

I recently checked out a collection of Buster Keaton silent shorts, and the humor took some getting used to. And the Fatty Arbuckle humor was often kind of lost on me.

Heck, I just watched Enter Laughing last night, a 1967 comedy directed by Carl Reiner that is ostensibly sort of about his early adulthood, and that took some orienting for me, ha-ha-wise, as well. I mean, I hear ya. :)
