Figured out why I've been chopping down the jungle out back by the back door.  It was so people could carry water heaters in and out.

I'm not sure whether they've managed to torque or jimmy the main water valve to be able to turn the water back on.  About half an hour ago the one guy asked me whether the water'd been turned off, and said it seems as if there's something broken in the main valve, and he couldn't get it to turn back on.  Yes, I may need to get a plumber.  But he'd fiddle with it more and see what he could do.  There were some screechy sounds.  Think that could be good?

I've never seen The Money Trap, but it's hard to imagine how it could be a comedy.

I did like those water heater guys. They were my kinda guys. When I'm around some my-kinda guys, it makes me miss guys. Before I got into women, I hung a lot more with guys. When they're comfortable, they can be really comfortable.

After talking to well over a dozen plumbing places, I finally have one coming --- one of the several that one of the water heater guys tried calling for me before they left. And called back later to help me further with. I believe that they hated to leave me without water. They were sweethearts in more ways than one, and I had some laughs with them.

This repair I need now requires the city turning off the water to the house, and something calling "pulling" a permit, and that's why those guys (who aren't master plumbers) couldn't just do it themselves. Right now the city (after two calls) is sending someone to try to find the curb key, whatever that is, and turn it. They should arrive within the hour, but might not find it right away. Apparently it can take a while. Meanwhile the unicorn ---er, available plumber--- is on the way too.

Several times I've wanted to wash my hands, which is how I miss having water most so far, since I have iced tea and bubbly water to drink. I didn't realize how often I wash my hands. It's not one of the ways I'm OCD; it's just that I like to wash them after cleaning things, or eating a plu-cot (or whatever you call a plum crossed with an apricot), or coming in from cutting up branches, or various other things.

I now have some library books finished off and ready to take back, so there's that.

The valve part cost another $450, plus I have to have the plumber come back to do another section of pipe and a snaking, which are both needed. But not as urgently as getting the water reconnected.

I'm so screwed financially. I can't afford to live in this town.

I remember seeing that with my dad when it came out.

He didn't find it a comedy at all.
