I remember a tourist attraction like this in Michigan back in the 1960's called Deer Forest. It had had weird nursery-rhyme tableaux that you could put a coin into and the crude mechanical characters would move, or at least there would be crappy audio played through speakers.

A little googling shows it closed after the 2014 season. I'm kind of surprised it lasted that long.

Eep! it turns out that person who owned it for the last few years seriously neglected the animals.

Well, that's a bummer! I guess it's not such a bummer that it closed, given its most recent history that way. But I'da loved to go to such a place, were it still happening and not, like, abusing animals.

That card's from the Birch Hill Game Park, which used to be in Patterson, NJ. http://www.historicpatterson.org/Exhibits/ExhBusinesses4.php
I'm thinking you might like the fire engine, and maybe you'd have liked the little train, as a little Peter?

There was a drive-through animal park near West Milford, NJ, when my old gf was a kid there. It also got caught being crappy to animals. We humans really suck, like, a lot, often.

When I was Googling Deer Forest, I discovered it, too, had a little train you could ride. While I don't remember it, I know I would have been totally into it.

One of these days, I need to look up the nearest tourist excursion train. I confess that if I'd been so inclined, having a kid would have been a great excuse to ride with him/her on a miniature railroad.

By the way, a couple of years ago, I heard a little Michigan Tourism promotional ad on the radio that mentioned "The World's Largest Miniature Railroad." Right up there with the world's shortest giant, I assume.
