someone far away is dead

I just heard that one of the dykes we knew in Kansas---a good, spirited woman---died in a car crash.

It's not as if I'd been keeping in touch with her much. She'd gotten a partner since we'd left, and I'd heard that, but I hadn't spoken to her since then. So it's that odd way it makes one sad to have the knowledge of someone's dying, vs. the loss of that person in one's own daily, or even monthly or yearly, life.

R.I.P., Sistah.

Damn shame when anyone dies who is good spirited.

Dang.

so very sorry to hear about her passing. my condolences. are you gonna be okay?

Oh yeah. Thanks for asking. We weren't close or anything. It's just weird and sort of sad in a way that's more removed to realize somebody you might never have seen again is now in the definitely never again column. And off the planet, over, kaput, quashed, extinct, extinguished, no more. Gone. Passed. Outta here. Finished. Smashed beyond repair in a rollover on the way to work. That kinda thing.

and the hot tub is filled with beer and beer bubbles...

And the weed. Pure sensy. (however you spell that)

(yeah, I'm not sure how to spell that either)
And the pillows are sensy pillows...and the wine flows freely from the perfectly formed arms of Renaissance-style male statues of the most perfect proportions because they are made by Michelangelo himself...

I was getting to that. Even though the lifeguards would be superfluous, they might still be handy for other things ...

[identity profile] maffick.livejournal.com 2005-03-09 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)
of course! all of the lifeguards are babes and Boticelli made several variations on Venus de Milo just for you!

[identity profile] fflo.livejournal.com 2005-03-09 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)
That's downright byoo-teeful, S.

I'd even take partly cloudy, if warm. And no lifeguards---yeah!

Saw a cartoon the other day of two people on a cloud smoking, one saying how it's okay to smoke in heaven cuz you're already dead.

tanks, I can only take partial credit, though, as I sort of stole the idea from Tom Robbins.

Tom Robbins. *sigh*

he's the man.

There are lifeguards--they're just overflowing eye-candy, though.
