Apparently the three states come together on dry land alongside the river. And you can cross the farther off ril bridge on foot as part of the Appalachian Trail. Maybe next time I visit DC, I could go there.

You totally should hit up Harper's Ferry. There's a tiny state park there (basically a big city block size) with inexpensive spa options: bath ("Roman" or regular tub) in the spring water and then a massage. The building is like an old YMCA or high school gym from the '30s or '40s. And the massage women, when I've been there, are what my friend called "Helga"s --- sturdy older no-nonsense uniformed strong-handed miracle workers.

Plus they have a Sheetz's. :)
