Art! By an illustrator called Quint Buchholz. He's German. I have another card of his in the hopper. Plus one of my old favorite desk decoration postcards is by him:


He's got a magic realism thing, and a sparseness to his style that I like. And a touch of the pointillist in him. A lot of his images have books in them, but those aren't as appealing to me, somehow.

I think the out-there fantastic reality of his is balanced by the simplicity and cleanness and quiet of his depictions. Sometimes. Or there's a way that quiet part makes them appeal to me more.

Oh I really like this one. thank you for letting me know about this artist. I am going to check out some of the other stuff he's done.
