friending frenzy
Jan. 7th, 2013 09:17 amSay, have you heard about the flurry of friending? Frenzying at

and

[EDITED to fix links.]
Check it out, if you still want to play LJ, here in what feels increasingly like its afterlife. There are some diehards out there (here). I do want more good folks to read, and it'd also, I think, be nice to imagine I'm writing to more than my dear handful.
There's a particular flavor of fondness I can have for people I've known only here. Something about it makes me feel more joined to broader humanity. I know, sounds like so much smoke blown out of so much orifice. But, like, 'strue.

I actually just left Facebook after being on there a while and came back to LJ and even though some of my friends are on FB and LJ, for some reason I really like LJ better. I like being back here. It really does have a nice sense of community. I think there's a higher commitment level to friendship on here as opposed to FB.
