Let's Go O's!

For all my fondness for certain baseball teams, and all the underdog-loving and association-having baseball watching I've done, in post seasons if not regular ones, and all the Yankee hating too, for that matter, nothing seems to match the gut feeling I can have for dem O's.  it all goes to the joy of involvement and engagement I had with them, with Denise and with others, back in the Memorial Stadium days.  During that time I really got to feel how the city itself seemed to root for the team, the way so many people in it clearly did.

Sometimes I miss following a team through the summer.  The Tigers just don't feel as readily available to me, here, and I don't think they would if I lived in Detroit.  There's something that bugs me, too, about the Detroit suburb people seeking like they're the vast bulk of the Tiger fans.

Bob Melvin, who was a smart Oriole catcher back in those days I loved, is now managing the upstart Oakland A's as they play our Tigers (yeah they are still mine, sort of) to see who will face the O's or the evils.

And right now it's 2-2 in the 7th with once-beloved Ichiro up, runners on 2nd & 3rd, 1 out.

I know what they feel like in Baltimore.

Ooh, exciting play at the plate, for out #2.  Now A-Rod's up.

There was a rain delay, so I'm gonna be up late.  Can't be late tomorrow, with VIPs in the building.  

Lotsa Bawlmer will be sleepy tomorrow.
