I voted! I had to put a lot of thought into Drain Commissioner, in particular.

Actually it was pretty fun voting. I kinda wish the line had been longer. It's the manic high that may or may not be followed by the low low. And/or the duldrums of uncertainty, tinged with the agony of the expectation of injustice.

It took me longer to work out where, precisely, in the local grocery store I was supposed to vote than it did to actually vote. There was only one person ahead of me [and a smattering already in the flag-draped cubicles].

Hooray! I'm looking forward to the voting myself.

I'm glad you took the drain commissioner seriously. After all, that's the person in charge of the destruction or preservation of wetlands, as the case may be. Drainage patterns give the land its very shape. When Bush and Kerry are gone, when the constitution is dust, when the human race is forgotten, and the world is left to a war between the super-intelligent descendants of the cockroaches and the super-intelligen descendants of the squirrels, the battlefield will be shaped by the erosion and deposition patterns left by the thousands of county drain commissioners who once walked this land.

Actually the biggest effort I had to make was trying to figure out which party the so-called "non-partisan" supreme court candidates were nominated by. Forutnately the Ann Arbor News voter guide actually came out and presented those facts up front. Easy to remember mnemonic--> the Dames were Democrats.
