Red Sox vs. Evil Ones tonight---will it save baseball for Lisa? We shall see.

Sadly, the great story of the Red Sox, 2nd only to the great story of the Cubbies in this regard, is the story of losing. Even if they do break the curse, beat the Yankees, etc., their legend is all around blowing it.

I've heard it postulated that a Sox win in the World Series could result in a bump for John Kerry in the election. THoughts?

Funny that you posted your baseball post just about the same time I posted mine. Interesting.

I think a Red Sox win would certainly be a good omen. Whether it will give Kerry a real boost? *shrug*

Hmmm... I hate the Yankees, but I also hate it when perennial underdog losers win, because then they cease to be interesting for me. But I guess if a Sox win will boost Kerry's popularity, go Sox!

Of course, we all know that the election is really going to be determined by the Packers/Redskins game on Halloween. I'll be borrowing my brother's cheesehead hat for that occasion.

You do know the Packers ares sucking horrendously this year. If they play against the Redskins like they did last night, we are so screwed.

Yeah, that's what I hear. My brother actually drove up to Green Bay to see the Monday Night Football game. (Hee!) I'm hoping they're just saving up all their razzle-dazzle for the Redskins.

Though I wouldn't put it past Bush & Co. to have slowly been spiking Favre's food with small amounts of LSD or something all this time to put him off his game.

A sports post? What are you, some kind of dyke?!?

But seriously folks, baseball is the only sport I would ever give a crap about, unless fencing ever got really big.

I'm making a big drop off at the shelter tomorrow night. Have anything?
