if you're one of the people who never saw my "folk saints" quiz...

... here it is---or a sample result:

juan soldado
Your folk saint is Juan Castillo Morales, or
Juan Soldado ("Soldier John"),
protector of illegal immigrants. Executed for
a murder committed by a superior officer, he
said his innocence would be proven after his
death when miracles asked for in his name would
be granted. Many preparing to make the trip to
the U.S. visit his tomb in Tijuana, and June
24---the feast day of St. John the Baptist---is
known as El Dia de San Juan in Mexico.

She's kinda... tortured.

paperkingdoms [which is [s[rtlomhfp,d when i put my fingers in the wrong place...oops!] is from the opening lyrics to a song I really like - Fly Baby by Sarah Masen:

This song's been misunderstood
Yeah the dreams we build are paper kingdoms
And friend if only we could
Reach beyond ourselves for some understanding

The rest of it's here. And I think it's a neat image... somewhere between oragami fairy houses and academia. And kinda journalish. And I went for a walk one night and told myself I wasn't allowed to go to home until I had a LJ name. :^)
groovesinorbit: (consciousness)

Well, I took the quiz last year,

but I can't remember who I got, I'm too lazy to go look, and it's such a good quiz, so I took it again. I know I didn't get this guy last time.

Jesus Malverde
You should worship Jesus Malverde,
"narco-saint," who watches over,
among others, drug runners in northern Mexico.
Probably an amalgam of two bandits from
pre-revolutionary Mexico, Malverde is a Robin
Hood figure sometimes said to have healing
powers as well; his shrine, in Culiacan,
Sinaloa, is a popular worship destination.
