I always liked her.

classic Julia

with monk fish

more recent Julia

"Life itself is the proper binge," said Julia, who went ahead and used butter and heavy cream, goddamnit, and was a veritable Amazon in her way, and didn't die young. Eat that! (More ammo for [livejournal.com profile] cristy74 and [livejournal.com profile] lovelikeyeast---and maybe me---when Brit TV comes to meet Fat Detroit?)

I love(d) Julia Child. I had no idea she died. *sob* Nice photo selection.

She had a fabulously awkward/backward way of putting her hands on her hips, and was the least graceful-moving woman I had seen on t.v. For this and so many other reasons, I loved her.

I've done a pretty good impression of her since age 13, too. Some drunken day, I will subject you to it.

Sigh.

I'd love to see your Julia some time. I did like Dan Ackroyd's impression, actually---derisive as some may think it, it seemed respectful to me. Like, hey, Julia would keep cooking even if she were bleeding to death. She keeps on keepin' on.

I too liked her funny way with her limbs.

Farewell, fine one.

Well, i'd say the lifetime of divinity didn't do that monk much good!

Julia Child kicks ass...not only was she a joy to watch cook, she also had *style.* She will certainly be missed.

I didn't know she'd died. I'm sad now. She was definitely one of a kind, and I loved watching her back in my younger days.

I was still in Toronto when I heard she'd died. I loved her, too. (and you're right about Ackroyd's take on her. I thought it was great.)
