Jul. 22nd, 2004 02:29 pmJust found out that one of my favorite Ann Arborites has a livejournal; if you're curious, join me in friending the marvelous
lovelikeyeast.
(Pal E. is apparently also technically here, but has barely appeared so far, as
homovegetarian.)

Date: Jul. 23rd, 2004 08:47 am (UTC)In fact, and speaking of which--would you be interested in joining me and the Crackeoke Gang (as I refer to them--the folks of the surprise kareoke party you missed out on...)--for BINGO thursday?
It's at the (for real) Bingo Hall on washtenaw by golfside. We went once before, and it is rather fierce. Those oldtimers are fast, man. We're meeting between 6-6:15 (they start promptly at 6:30, and you have a dizzying variety of bingo game cards to select from).
I have hopefully convinced the anti-bingo Debbie to come wearing fancy Blingo...
Come join us! Join us... bingo fun. One of us. One of us.

Date: Jul. 23rd, 2004 09:51 am (UTC)It'll be good to go with people who can appreciate the subculture without classist condescension.
Re: a'right!
Date: Jul. 23rd, 2004 01:44 pm (UTC)I had never thought over the class implications of bingo. Except that I was taken aback at how this bingo hall is kind of pricy! No church game. $20 to play a full set--though you can play a half-set, which is what I did, without feeling deprived... which entitles you to 1 card for all games instead of 2. And to be fair, extra cards for some of the games are only $.50 each.
Anyway. The Hebron Volunteer Firemen's Carnival (I am a fan of the carnival) sounds dreamy, and I am drooling over the fried oyster sandwich I don't have in my hand right now.
The Bingo Hall does have an asst. of fried snacks, though it's hard to eat while playing. ;-)
This place is just e. of the 23, on the north side of the street (it might be before you get to golfside). Or I'm happy to drive if you wanted to swing by here first. xoxo
