snow settles in; stuff sinks in further, through remote control

My but the droopy branches of that evergreen outside this window look wild & dramatic, weighted down with inches of frosting.

Not only did my kick-ass boss call this morning to say we got the snow day, but she had already called everybody else! Usually we divvy up the list. I don't reckon I've written much about her here, but TGP is somethin'. She works her butt off for us behind the scenes, and she cares more about being a human being with us than she does about controlling everything---even when that instinct/desire makes it harder for her to do her job.

Anyway. Spent much of today so far talking to vjsmom. Sounds like she's maybe [crossing fingees] going to be in a good space for my visit. Hope so! Our talk today, along with a recent tidbit from homovegetarian, are reminding me how much easier it is to see how other people have been treated badly than it is to see it in my own life. Here's to a new year of refraining from working to excuse those throwing shit at us! Who's with me?
