wheh-eh-eh-eh-ehhh is hope

The second worst song in "Oliver!" is "Where Is Love?"   (The first worst is "Who Will Buy?")  (When I was in high school I was in the [small] pit orchestra for a production of the musical.)

When & where I'm managing to find hope and when & where I'm not has been a subject of my attention lately.  Oddly, I find hope in political resistance, a place I haven't had hope in a long time.  I'm having more trouble with the personal hope.

Oh for a pill for that.  I swear I'd only pop in once in a while.  Spread it out.  Not take it for granted.

My elementary school music teacher was enamoured of showtunes. So I sang a whole lot of them from shows I never saw, including the ones you mentiono from "Oliver". All I know about their context is what Mrs. Merchant told us in classs. In retrospect I can see what you mean.

I wonder if some of that has to do with what you're hoping for, or if you need a sense of the possibility of hope before you can begin to actually...do it.

I'm so glad you're at least finding some hope in the widespread resistance movement. (Bev and I were in a small Maine town called Belfast over the weekend and their co-op market was advertising a "We Are the 99%" march this coming week.) I am sort of living vicariously through your hope, since I'm having trouble getting there myself.
