Maybe I wouldn't have thought so, yesterday, coming back out into the heat of late afternoon, if the movie had been better.  I was pleased to find that Bridesmaids didn't have a whole lot of the heterogiggley marriage stuff, but it was disappointing anyhow.  The dumb jokes were dumb.  And that lead woman doesn't much bring humanity along with her schtickiness, though the script had plenty of foundation for such a sensibility.

I found that I *wanted* to like the movie, because it seemed to be trying for some kind of non-traditional gender humor. And yet. I didn't really connect with the characters much, and the character I liked most because she at least owned her freaky weirdness was still rather unlikeable.

My one word movie review would be: uncomfortable.

Is it sad that I see that animation and suddenly I'm off Googling theatres named Aztec to see if this is based on a real building? (The one in San Antonio is *pretty*!)

Yeah, it was bad enough yesterday in Chicago that I ended up sleeping on a chair in front of the air conditioner. Ick.
