Looks like a totally 70's dude guy to me, except the typewriter looks a bit old. But the internet tells me that is a completely anachronistic impression.
Say, Peter, I know somebody who's thinking of moving into the Village. You know her too, at least a little, as she is Security at WCC. (Also makes cigar box guitars.) Would you have any useful info or set of impressions for her, and be willing to share 'em?
I find it a reasonably pleasant place to live, I'm pretty happy with the maintenance people and the maintenance itself (though this is based overwhelmingly on the time when it was a co-op). I think all the negatives--costs, size, shared walls, and street parking--are evident when you move in, so that I never had the sense of having negative surprises in the 20+ years I've lived there.
I got an end unit, so the only shared wall is bedroom-to-bedroom, and I think I've had less than a half-dozen noise problem incidents with those immediate neighbors in 20 years.
Bottom line: I'm reasonably happy with the place, and doubt I could do better with my income. Beats an apartment for sure, and beats a house for someone as lazy as me. And I've never had a duck in the basement.
Do you mean security at Schoolcraft College? I haven't done anything at WCC for ten years or more, and I don't recall any security people from there.
