    Which is which?

Take a look at this map. It shows usages for "kitty-corner" and "catty-corner" (along with a couple of minor variations). One is purple and one is red. Do you know which is which?

I grew up deep in the red territory, and always heard kittycorner, therefore I will assert that kittycorner is red and cattycorner is purple.
