[livejournal.com profile] peteralway, this has you written all over it

A postcard that's just about as old as I am:

I haven't plucked out the melody, but could it possibly match the glory of our unsungest?

Oh, my! That lead sheet was on a postcard?

Jeeze, what thoroughly awful lyrics! I'll have to link my filky friends to this one!

Aren't they just (awful)?

I shall present you with the actual postcard one of these days when we see each other in person.

"MOON-BASED COSMIC RAY GUNS?"

(Also, "unsungest?")

Unsungest? Heck, there are lots of sportscasters today who thing "winningest" is a word.

*cringe*

I am fascinated by the shift in focus from God in "Bon Voyage" to America in "Welcome Home." Is the idea to get on His good side to make the voyage successful, but then cut Him out of the credit after it's over? Is it wise to be that transparent about it?

Hee. Well I guess to get the answer we'd have to track down whether Gaston Olivier got struck down or smited (smitten?) or is burning in some circle of h-e-double-toothpicks.
