Hot on the heels of the Obama Justice Dept's crappy brief about DOMA, tomorrow the President's gonna come out with this supposedly good news, but with a caveat: the homo partners won't get all of the benefits. Only some. Like, not all the health insurance benefits.
What fraction of them do you suppose they'll get? Perhaps 3/5??
<\endsnark>
"Compromise" sometimes is a dirty word, Mr. President.

Date: Jun. 17th, 2009 08:35 am (UTC)I don't understand why the issue of "Gay Rights" is even up for debate. It's really a no-brainer: Either you support equal rights for everyone or you're a bigoted prick who needs to stop forcing their stupidity/"religion" on others. *shakes head*
Even if one believes the ridiculous assertion that Jesus doesn't want there to be gays, surely one can't honestly support passing federal law that presumes we are all the same religion (and therefore have the same prejudices). All emotion aside, it just doesn't hold up to logic.
