First mow of the year done. Booksellers almost here.

I should comb out my hair.

I thought it was going to be raining all day. This sunny and not very warm has been quite nice.

Last night after supper one side of my jaw suddenly swelled up, smarting in a weird way. I got online and found what I'm convinced is the culprit: sialolithiasis. That's 7 syllables. It could be its own line in a haiku. And I'm talkin' the long line. (For those of you playing along at home, the accent's on "thigh"--- the 3rd-to-last.)

Sialolithiasis is a salivary gland blockage. Mine's partly worked itself out, or at least retreated, as it is written that it will do. Periodically I get a tangy-smart release of flavor from that corner of my mouth.

One recommended treatment is also an insult: "go suck on a lemon."

Last night I could make it smart just by thinking of delicious food.

greatly diminished. still swells a bit when i've eaten, tho. and hurts when i massage it (another recommended response---to force out the calcification).

good. you are certain that is what it is then?

i'd bet at least 10 bucks on it. :)

Yikes. I guess we haven't talked in a few days. If you have some time tomorrow night, perhaps we can update each other on stuff.

Sialolithiasis

I think I've had that a couple of times in the past year. Very nasty. I've had it for like 24 hours and ugh! Pressure on it made my heart pound like crazy and my head feel like it would explode

It's worth all of those syllables, and yes, anything that made me salivate made it hurt.

It reminded me of when I had mumps as a kid.

Weird, ain't it?
