mom

I just realized that my (dead) mother's birthdays were three and four days ago. (She was born at midnight.) She would have been, uh, 74.

PiJ, do you still think of your folks on their birthdays, every time?

Not every time, no. I missed my mom's this past October. Didn't remember it till the next week. I do think of my dad's usually cuz his birthday falls a week after R's.

Lessee. Mom would have been 78 last year, and Dad would be 80 this March. I forget my mom's death anniversary a lot, too. Dad's sticks in my head a little more, although it's not the purveyor of nightmares and need for company that it once was.

Time moves on. Hearts heal. : )

I always think about my mother on her birthday, if only because she died eleven days after her sixty-third. She would have been seventy-five this year. Hard to believe it's been twelve years already. I should visit her grave this March, on her birthday. I meant to do that several times in the past but never seemed to manage.

My mother's birthday is Dec. 31st, so I always think of her. It's been 13 going on 14 years now. My father died when I was 5, so I don't think of him on his birthday.
